Facial Rejuvenation Dry Needling: What It Is and What to Expect
Updated: Sep 12
Facial rejuvenation dry needling — sometimes called cosmetic needling — is offered at Life Performance Osteo in Belgian Gardens, Townsville, as a standalone service, separate from Dr Phillip Murray's clinical osteopathic practice.
What is facial rejuvenation dry needling?
The treatment involves placing fine, sterile, single-use needles superficially into the skin and muscles of the face, with a few points on the body. It's a cosmetic application of dry needling, based on Western anatomy and provided by Phil within his scope as a registered osteopath, used by some people as part of a natural approach to skin and facial appearance.
What a session involves
A first session typically begins with a short consultation to discuss your skin, general health, and what you're hoping to get from treatment. Fine needles are then placed at selected points and left in place for a period of relaxation before being removed. Most people find the sensation mild.
What to expect afterwards
Mild redness at needle sites is common and usually settles within a short time. As with any needling treatment, individual responses vary, and a course of multiple sessions is generally needed before assessing whether the treatment suits you. We don't make claims about specific outcomes — your practitioner can discuss what's realistic to expect during your consultation.
Is it right for you?
Facial rejuvenation dry needling isn't suitable for everyone, and a consultation beforehand allows any relevant health history to be considered. This service is separate from osteopathic treatment and isn't a substitute for medical or dermatological care.
